In our course for 2D artists, students learn the basic skills of classical and digital drawing, master the necessary software and immerse themselves in the specifics of 2D. You can build your first art portfolio on the program.
Who the course is suitable for:
This course will detail 4 important aspects: the classical approach to anatomy and drawing from life, the modern approach to constructive drawing without life, digital painting using Adobe Photoshop, and basic knowledge of the concept artist profession.
The program is suitable for those who want to draw a lot in 2D, make sketches and come up with concepts.
INTRODUCTION TO CONCEPT ART
This discipline provides an understanding of the tasks of a concept artist, the pipeline of his work, his place in the game development team. We will look at the evolution of ideas and images, allowing future professionals to better understand their role as a 2D artist.
DIGITAL PAINTING
In this block we will get acquainted with Photoshop, the main tool of a 2D artist. We’ll learn the basic skills of drawing objects, characters, and environments in color.
We get acquainted with the interface and basic tools of Photoshop.
We study the basics of constructing, perspective, and rendering shapes on the basis of geometric primitives.
Why we need references, and how to find and use them
Finding the dependence of light sources, blurs, and incident shadows
Solve the physics of color and light using examples of different materials (texturing matte material, metal, glass).
Constructive Drawing
In this discipline we will learn the basics of straight line perspective, what is imaginative drawing (without nature), how objects are constructed in volume, and deal with the basics of anatomy.
Imaginative Drawing is an animated sketching technique to remove students’ fear of the white sheet. We’ll also break down the basics of composition, frame construction for illustration, and the principle of storyboarding.
Dynamic Sketches
In this course we will develop skills for quick sketches from life: we will study proportions, movement, basic principles of work with separate parts of the body, head.
