I’ve heard stories of Con Clerics and others who carry supplies con-goers might need while at a convention and have always loved the idea. I’ve had the idea to create a new #youarewelcomeatmytable product to reinforce the concept, but it wasn’t until I was working on some icons for a project at work inspiration hit!
These are meant to be high-visibility items to carry basic supplies such at pain relievers, ear plugs, band-aids, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, etc… so that they can be handed out to those in need. My goal here is for these to become commonplace so that people immediately recognize them for what they are and can approach those who have them when they need an emergency item.
The next step is to make posters with the Con Aid image as well as a list of what each pack should at least contain* to hand out to vendors at conventions. This way the information spreads faster and people to know to look out for carriers!
Just like any other #youarewelcomeatmytable product, all profits from sales of Con Aid items will go to a charitable organization. Click here to purchase one now!
* Initial thoughts on the default items that should be packed are as follows: (feel free to comment below with additions/modifications)
- Adhesive Bandages
- Antibiotic Ointment
- Alchohol Prep Pads
- Hand Sanitizer
- Ear Plugs
- Minimum 12 Sanitary Napkins (Heavy flow to be safe)
- Several Travel-Size Deodorants
It has been brought to my attention that handing any sort of medicine would be a bad idea, and that totally makes sense. I have removed these types of item from the recommend stock list.
