Hard City the Board Game Kickstarter campaign has 6 days to go. Designed by Marek Raczyński and Adam Kwapiński, Hard City is a tactical adventure board game in a unique new retro setting, heavily inspired by B-class action movies and the atmosphere of the 1980s era.
Hard City is a tactical adventure board game for 1 to 5 players, in which you will take on the role of brave officers of the Hard City Police Department. They will have to face off against the hordes of mutants controlled by the evil Doctor Zero – a mad scientist who wants to take over the city today… and the whole world tomorrow! In order to get out of this clash, players will have to work together to rescue as many citizens as possible. They will be using the unique abilities of their characters to counter the bloodthirsty mutants’ attacks.
This game looks awesome. Its 1980s stylized theme is actually fairly contemporary, given the recent popularity of Stranger Things and Turbo Kid. Even the physical components of the game are unique. The board consists of three double-sided parts, making each mission unique in terms of setup. Every part of the story takes place in a different city location and in the Grand Finale (the final mission), the game box is used as a playable component.
With a basic pledge level at $69, Hard City is really approachable and might even make a great gift for the holiday season. Take a look.
