Fantasy Flight Games announced the formation of its new Fantasy Flight Interactive Studio to deliver its catalog of board games to digital gamers. Former Human Head Studios Director, Tim Gerritsen, will lead the new division to  bring “fresh, new digital experiences based on Fantasy Flight Games’ beloved brands.” The move seems to be following in Asmodee Digital’s footsteps, though Fantasy Flight has been experimenting more and more with digital enhancements to their physical products, which will now fall under Fantasy Flight Interactive Studio’s umbrella.

“Fantasy Flight Interactive is made up of developers who love both tabletop games and video games…”

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Fantasy Flight Games’ best game properties to life as amazing video game experiences,” said Tim Gerritsen. “Fantasy Flight Interactive is made up of developers who love both tabletop games and video games and we are striving to create games that capture the best aspects of both media to entertain our fans.”

It’s pretty exciting news. I’m eager to see what their initial lineup will be and am hoping X-Wing Miniatures will be somewhere in there.
